SP, 15.37, experience over many years tells me you’re heading for a favourite bandwagon.
Aww naomi24

I promise I won't - it's a great time of the year...snow's falling, wine is being mulled. No need for bickering surely?

sp: /but my point was that when Khandro opened the thread it would've been better to use a reputable source./

Can you indicate some hard evidence that there is anything disreputable about Jeff Taylor, or that any of his assertions in the video is not accurate ?

and the OP was put up, as you can see at 21:25 (UK time) last night when I had just watched it on TV, it was the simplest way to highlight the story.

What's your problem?
Is the information posted in the Youtube video false or inaccurate?
SP, pleased to hear it. Merry Christmas.
Khandro

You yourself have provided sources that people trust. If you link to a brand (Spectator, Le Monde, Politico) then the story can be analysed because the source is reputable, and I mean that in the sense that these sources have reputations.

The man in your link is disreputable only in the sense that most people haven't a clue who he is nor with what authority he speaks.

He has an unknown reputation.

Hence disreputable.
I disagree, SP. You can’t brand him disreputable unless you have evidence to support that.
yes of course you can, Boris J is a damned liar
anyway
about Qatargate -
very large sums being mentioned
Hundred thousand euros
that's a lorra dosh in anyone's language
Looks like the leading Brexiteers up here in Scotland(the SNP)were right all along.Who knew.
naomi24

That's an odd argument.

This man cannot be reputable unless he has a reputation. Hence he's disreputable.

Can you explain why this man whom I assume you'd never heard of before yesterday is reputable?

CoolBritannia //Is the information posted in the Youtube video false or inaccurate?//

The media have to be careful what they say as it is all sub judice (Jeff Taylor is a retired lawyer) - the woman has been arrested, along with others, millions of euros of bank notes have been found in hotel rooms, suitcases & various other places the search is continuing. It's a bit of a smoking gun, but until there is a trial, and convictions, no one can say she is guilty.

That's my opinion, PP may have more to say on it :0)

sp; I think you have a somewhat distorted view of what's 'reputable' .

Is anyone of whom you know nothing, automatically disreputable?

dis•rep•u•ta•ble (dɪsˈrɛp yə tə bəl)

adj.
1. having a bad reputation.
2. discreditable; dishonorable.
3. shabby or shoddy.
naomi24

I'll put it this way - if Channel Four, Sky and BBC News ran a story claiming that a UFO had been seen flying across Wiltshire yesterday afternoon, you'd give the story way more credence than if someone you'd never heard of posted the same on TikTok.
khandro

Would you accept 'without reputation' instead of 'disreputable'?
It’s not an odd argument, SP. You have to find out before branding him either way.

Thanks Khandro. From a very quick check it seems the Youtube poster has accurately and conveniently summarised the known facts so far for his audience and for others.

It seems rather bizarre that your thread has been hijacked and derailed by a few people that overtly know very little about this Jeff Taylor chap but have alre
Ha ha...so that middle bit is a cut 'n' paste error to do with redecorating our new house!
Coolbritannia

You've found out something about him!

What?

Where????
oops

**already thrashed him. Maybe some are bitter about the actual disclosed contents, who knows, or care!
