We do. They’re sadly lacking. Why can’t they even put things like the Charlie Says adverts from yesteryear on social media? When did public information films stop becoming a feature of tv?
so sad. Some people protest that children are too mollycoddled these days and should be allowed to take risks, but that doesn't seem to be true. I wonder if there were, or should have been, any warning signs by the water.
On the subject of public information films I'm afraid that ship has sailed.
They were pretty effective when I was young but then we only had a choice of 2 channels unless you had a new tv with UHF. Now there is a plethora of channels so the impact is massively reduced. The other problem is that all those other channels (and Social media) are private businesses, their 'air time' would have to be paid for. Whilst some may be willing to put one or two for free where do you draw the line once you have started. Topics like this are clearly useful but you can bet these days fringe groups would soon start wanting free ads for their 'cause' claiming lives could be lost etc.
I think we need to find a different way to get these various messages across, but I confess I dont have the answer.
