No Way Back For Harry?
What with Harry's extraordinary attack on his brother and Meghan's take on Meghan being perfection personified, can the rift ever be healed?
Harry spoke quite wistfully, I thought, of his life with his family, an impression that didn’t diminish when he referred to his Californian residence as 'home sweet home' and said this is where he is meant to be, or words to that effect. Somehow I couldn't quite believe he meant it. It's all so very sad.

MissTerious - // This is all so ridiculous. They don't like the media yet they produce this pile of tripe for the media to feed on! //
There is an important distinction to be made here.
When Harry and Meaghan say they 'hate the media', what they mean is, they hate the media intruding into their lives, which is perfectly understandable.
You or I or anyone else would hate the level of intrusion that the royals have to accept as a fact of life - being followed by paparazzi and having their every move and word reported and analysised.
But of course, that intense media interest is a two-edged sword.
It can be used - as Harry and Meaghan know very well, to be a platform and a conduit to the wider world for them to brief what they want to put across as 'their truth', and that aspect of the media they have no problem with.
The fact that 'their truth' often flies in the face of everyone else's 'truth', is not something that seems to concern them overmuch.
Here in the real world, there is the truth, and anything else that is not the truth.
Trying to manipulate aspects of the truth to fit an agenda is not telling the truth, it is only telling 'their truth'.
I suppose saying "Our version of events which makes us look like blameless victims of a cruel world out to destroy us ..." is a bit long-winded, so 'Our Truth' serves as a convenient shorthand label for what they put out with tedious regularity.

When you examine the sort of men that have spent time in Ms Hurley's romantic orbit, it's not hard to see that an immature, self-pitying, rather dense royal, is unlikely to have attracted her interest for even a moment.

naomi - // Or possibly not hard to see why a second rate actress ... //
What makes you asses her as 'second rate'? Have you seen any of her work?
I have seen her in seven seasons of 'Suits' and while none of it is Oscar-level entertainment, or indeed supposed to be such, ms Markle acted perfectly competently throughout.
I suspect she has attracted the label of 'second rate actress' on the basis of her activities since giving up her career, rather than any merits she may have gained during it.

naomi - // Thinking about it, if DTC’s post is true it would seem Harry has a bit of a thing for second rate actresses. //
Been sleeping in the knife drawer again?
Ms Hurley has denied the suggestion in today's Times.
I have no reason to disbelieve her - but detractors will no doubt make one up in due course.

naomi - // Oh do give over, AH. As an actress she never was a Hollywood A-lister! //
No-one, including myself, and in fact Ms Markle, has ever suggested that she was a 'Hollywood A-Lister' - that would be tricky since 'Suits' was filmed and produced in Canada.
But there are nore than two grades of assessment for the acting profession, not being a 'Holywood A-Lister' does not automatically make you 'second rate'.
Unless you are determined to make your dislike for Ms Markel's current behaviour indivisible from how well she may or may not have performed in her previous occuptation.
