Naomi, you shouldn't make assumptions about what people think. I am happy for the rich to be rich. Good luck to the Richard Bransons, the Jim Ratcliffes, the James Dysons of this world who have the vision, drive and talent to make their wealth.

No, the problem I have (being a bit of a leftie) is inherited wealth. And I don't mean parents who send their kids to a good school or help them through university, maybe give them a deposit for their first house. No, I mean being able to pass on or bequeath the sort of wealth that means their children have to have accountants in place so they can avoid (legally, of course) tens of millions in tax. That doesn't sit well with me, which is why we have income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax laws (that we, the folk with a home, a comfortable pension and a few bob in the bank, are penalised disproportionately by).
