Just as a point for discussion (might be better for a different thread) why is that generally those on the right, albeit I’m just right of centre, ‘support’, for want of a better word, Israel, but again generally, those on the left support Palestine.
I’m not looking for an argument, I’m genuinely intrigued.

Desk; what a difficult issue. Different ways to approach this.
1 Those on the right tend to support the upper dog, and the upper dog (locally OR globally) at the moment is Israel (depending on what ideology you subscribe to).
2 Those on the right tend to support the underdog and the underdog (globally OR locally) is Israel (depending on what ideology you subscribe to).
3 Those on the right realise that they must not be seen as pro-Nazi, so they favour Israel.
4 Those on the left tend to support the underdog because it's the underdog (unless it's on the right.)
5 Those on the left tend to support the upper dog because it's the upper dog (unless it's on the right.)
What a mad world we live in. Basically, those who perceive themselves as treated like *hit will fight back against their 'oppressors' and the rest of the 'outragedosphere' will join in.
AB is a microcosm of it all. A majority of easy-going folk who enjoy a natter, and a few who want to dominate and insist that they are the only ones who are in the right.

ynna; I think it's a personal attitude. I abhor branding people as enemies because of their skin or name or religion. Not because I'm Labour or Tory. Mind you, being Labour or Tory tends to be dependent on a personal attitude - i.e. are you committed to improving the lot of humanity as a whole, or are you interested in number one?
