...until an agreement is reached on his social media use, the BBC has said.

Bet he is feeling less cocky now. No doubt he still gets paid. Time will tell if his principles or ego win the day.

Someone mentioned this on another thread. It comes as no surprise. Ignorant man.

So you are saying Lineker's comments were anti-Semitic?

I can’t see how his comments were anti-Semitic.
YNNAFYMMI posted yesterday, "Lineker is just another left-wing anti-semite pretending not to be an anti-semite."

When I asked for evidence yesterday, there was no response.
Intuition,TCL,intuition.Get used to it.

I find GL an odious and quite pompous person who, simply put, is not worth his £1.35m BBC package. I agree with andy-hughes' comment yesterday that the telling point is how GL's contract is worded.

Life and football will continue for sure, but GL? Watch this space.
By, "intuition" do you not mean, "completely made up and without foundation"?
There are two issues here: is Lineker right and does he have a right to voice opinion.
You can’t help feeling the BBC germs pressured here.
It’s maybe no bad thing for a while: this whole issue like so many of these social media bust his has been blown out of all proportion.
Mind you: antisemitic?
As my friend Tora would say: “gawp ‘elp us”
Some people plainly have a very high embarrassment threshold :-)
“By, "intuition" do you not mean, "completely made up and without foundation"?”

Try “gormless”
The last gorm left the building a while back
I find him so disappointing because back in the day (late 80s) I thought he was gorgeous looking, a fabulous footballer with a fine upstanding personality and a very happy marriage. A near perfect human being. It all went downhill from there.
Maybe aye and maybe no.
and ian wright is coming out in solidarity with him...hahaha

"His comments have attracted widespread support on social media, with one tweet getting 235,000 likes."

from the linked article...

"His comments have attracted widespread support on social media, with one tweet getting 235,000 likes."

i see no mention from the blatantly biased clowns of how many also told him on twitter and other SM platforms exactly what they think of the jug eared voice box and the bbc though......quelle surprise...said nobody ever..
Ho-hum...
@18.15@TCL and Ichy.
He’s a prat, but I have no doubt his heart is in the right place.

But…

It’s easy to have your heart in the right place when what’s happening doesn’t affect you. Let’s face it, we see it all the time on AB with people wishing to appear oh so achingly righteous when they’re unaffected.

If they were affected, they absolutely would have a different opinion.

However…if you’ve been to Dover of late (or Margate, Ramsgate, Folkestone etc…), you may not be quite so charitable.

The young, healthy, fit men (and make no mistake the vast vast majority of the boat people are young, fit and healthy young men) are causing problems in those areas.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Margate (I mean, why would you) but the last time I went it’s like a bloody souk.

Prudie, not forgetting his out-pourings following the diagnosis of leukaemia for baby George Lineker at 8 weeks old. I cannot recall any such comments from George's mother, it was all about Gary. Thankfully George is now a healthy 30 year old.

I wonder if that was when GL started to enjoy the sound of his own voice. I expect he has always enjoyed adulation and craves it still.
Good. I think we can live without him and BBC will have more money in their coffers
He’s not had much support here but I am behind him.
I don’t agree with the 1930s Germany bit but I support his right to voice bus opinions in a civilised manner which is what he always did.
He’s not scared of this government,
Sadly the same cannot be said for the BBC.
