...until an agreement is reached on his social media use, the BBC has said.

Bet he is feeling less cocky now. No doubt he still gets paid. Time will tell if his principles or ego win the day.

“Always does”!
Why shouldn’t he have an opinion, me and you can?

He is laughing all the way to the bank. Think he also works for BT and Walkers.

Because the BBC is supposedly impartial...
Don’t be silly.

BBC NEWS is supposed to be impartial, not every sub-emplyee throughout the whole organisation.
Otherwise great presenters like Michael Portillo would not get work with them.
Utterly ridiculous that people are trying to censor GL for what he thinks in his private life when not broadcasting.
He wasn’t presenting for MOTD when he made his comments. Or working for his other employers.
No one moaned when he criticised Qatar which was potentially embarrassing for BBC too, - but the Qatari govt doesn’t find the licence fee.
Yet
What is more depressing is that the BBC has been leant on by the Conservative Government.

But Boris’ loan arranger in position they are bound to crumble.

And how pathetic is the Conservative party that they have to censor a crisp munching has been football pundit?
I think any comparison anyone makes with 1930s Germany is bound to attract not just criticism but disgust. Understandably that really is taboo. Had he not done that I doubt anyone would have turned a hair,
All political parties complain about BBC impartiallity at some time or another, so why the moans when the beeb actually do something about it
The truth hurts sometimes.
Like the 1930s when everyone condemned Germany, so the the rest of the world will think poorly on the UK.
And It won’t happen. They know it is dubious, and the courts will kill it. Then as usual they can blame someone else for inaction. TTT and Naomi will have a field day when it is killed.
As i said yesterday if he had made the Godwins Law analogy on here he would have been suspended from this site.Whenever i make the Godwins Law analogy on here i get my posts removed.Strange site this.

I agree: so it’s nothing to do with impartiality at all: in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if the raw nerve he touched reflected a smidgeon of guilt.
Hence Braverman eventually thinking to mention that her husband was Jewish?
Who knows
Gromit, I can’t speak for TTT but you’re wrong about me. Leave me out of your musings.
Nah you wouldn’t.
If something is comparable to 1930s Germany, then you are allowed to point that out.
Ich, I disagree. It’s everything to do with impartiality. No more politically sensitive topic than 1930s Germany. The man is a moron to touch that topic.
Naomi,
It is my opinion that you will be veryupset when this doesn’t happen.
And you will whinge forever like you have about the lack of Rwanda flights.
But gromit, it isn’t comparable. What he said is not only an insult to this country, it’s an insult to those who fell foul of 1930s Germany.
Gromit, your opinion is wrong.
So many, particularly the well off who arent affected are good at finding reasons to rubbish ideas to stop thousands risking there lifes crossing the channel and trying to force there way in to milk our resources at the expense of our own poorest when they were perfecly safe on the other side of the channel.... but there unable to accept that theres a problem or are unable to come up with any suggestions of there to tackle the issue
1930s Germany had policies that were blatantly racist, xenophobic and ultra nationalist.
That is how I see this latest non policy, designed to be blocked and never happen. But even so, do immense harm to our country.
I will repeat my prediction from a year ago.
There will be no flights to Rwanda in the foreseeable future. Not one.
A policy at up to fail so everyone else can be blamed.
