I went to the Met Office site to check on the severe weather warning details for my area of the country.

This sign was at the top of the page - does this mean that there will be no weather? Will it still be -2º here if the strike goes ahead?

I suppose it's like a petrol strike, you should only use the weather sparingly until normal supplies resume. You need to make each snowflake last.
I'll let private Fraser answer.....

I've got some weather. It's not all that good, but I don't mind letting you have some.

TTT, a pessimistic Scots man?? Never! :-)

Jno, Jordain - the main weather status in Scotland is dreich and wet. I can't remember it ever being this cold in March.
Maybe we are all Doomed!
I got married in March, lovely sunny day absolutely perishingly cold. My sister had come from Australia, been there for ten years, and despite being told to wear a coat, she didn't. She couldn't believe how cold it was.
I've also known a lot of other very cold Marches, Aprils, Mays, any month really.

Chris, I avoid talking about such things and I go straight to conversations about our furry dictators.

I can, in 1963 the temp never went above zero until March, and snow which fell before Xmas hung around all that time.
oh dear the weather is striking

Cashier, I think that the fact that I am between homes just now and heating two properties may influence my memory of previous years.

Canary, my mum was pregnant with me during that cold spell. I hid away until September.
