Councils have been putting home grown British homeless people in hotels like Travelodge for years whilst they wait suitable accommodation, including families.
Some homeless people don't qualify because they can't take their dogs, or won't give up drugs or have problems with alcohol. A minority don't want to conform to the rules and prefer to live rough.
They get a room to themselves.

Asylum seekers usually have to share a room, mostly with strangers. Neither groups 'get fed three a day'.
