An exquisite painting entitled "Home for Lunch" was on display in a Miami art gallery.
It depicted three very naked black men sitting on a park bench. What was unusual was that the men on both ends of the bench had black penises, but the man in the middle had a pink penis.
Two women were staring at the painting, trying to figure it out. The gallery director noticed their confusion so he walked up to them and asked, "Can I help you with this painting?"
One of the women replied, "We were curious about the painting of the black men on the bench. Why does the man in the middle have a pink penis?"
The director replying that it represented the difference between black and white society, repression of Africans coming across the Pond and even hints of homosexuality to it, disgusting, pornographic and anti-Floridian values that this painting held.
A voice from behind, with a strong Scottish burr, interrupted, "I'm afraid you've misinterpreted the painting,"
The director asks, "And who are you to make such a comment?"
"I'm only the artist."
He continued on, "The three men are not Africans at all. They are Scottish coal miners from near Edinburgh, and the fellow in the middle went home for lunch."
