Thanks Lottie & all, I totally agree that Paul would want the show to go on for the sake of all those poor lost/homeless dogs, etc., but I just thought it a bit early for his replacement to be splashed in the media before he's even laid to rest. :o/

Oh dear!

I was suggesting Martin Clunes, another lovely person who adores dogs.
Thank you for asking Lottie - I will pop in from time to time, but we did have some fun in the 'olden days' on here! I can't believe I first joined 21 years ago & that Chatterbank's still going! Have a lovely day! ;o)
Martin Clunes would be great Lottie! He has such a calm demeanour & doubt he'd get over excited like some of the silly hosts on TV! As for Ant & Dec, I'm sick to death of seeing them popping up here, there & everywhere, even on adverts, as if they need the extra money!
Question Author
I really can't stand Ant and Dec, Smudge. They get turned off in our house.
I never turn off Ant and Dec because I don't switch them on in the first place.
Question Author
Sometimes they just appear Barsel! We are lumbered with them. But obviously others feel differently. The keep winning awards!
Same here Lottie! There are a few tv hosts I/we can't stand, but feel these two have certainly had their day....!
I always think of them as being presenters for children, can't get past that.
Whoever they choose to replace Paul, it will never be the same.
Barsel - "I never turn off Ant and Dec because I don't switch them on in the first place". That did make me laugh & I agree, they'd be much better hosting children's shows, etc! ;o)
Has anybody even looked at the pics of Tom Hardy with dogs? Am I his only fan?
Question Author
They act like a couple of kids. No substance to them. A lot of kids could do much better than them.

Sorry Ladybirder. I did look. He looks lovely but I really don't know who he is. I know he's an actor, but I can't recall seeing him.
I am amazed at how much he has done that I haven't seen either Lottie. If you whizz quickly down this link you'll see them. I'll shut up about him now I promise as he can't be a contender now anyway.

MissT, did you not watch Peaky Blinders? Tom was in that.
I personally think it's too soon to be talking about a replacement and as much as I like Stephen Mulhern, I don't think he's the man for the job. Is anybody really? Paul's love for the dogs shone out, he was there down on the floor with them, cuddling them and comforting them and we all knew it was totally genuine. I don't think anyone can replace him, he was so unique. I'm not sure I could watch it with anyone else presenting.
Please, not Stephen Mulhearn.
Question Author
I've only seen two of those films LB. But I wouldn't recognise him if I saw him walk past me.

I never watched Peaky Blinders Fitdarren. It somehow never appealed to us.
