Very sad news indeed.
MissTerious, just for information - there's a much earlier thread, with a fair number of comments.
I don't mind that there's another thread, he was a unique one off and we'll never see his like again. His family must be gutted.

Thanks. I missed it!! I've had a chaotic morning. I'll leave it in News. They're probably to involved in arguments and fighting to notice.

I am so upset. He was one of the very best. A lovely man. RIP
There can never be toomany tributes to Paul - he was special.
Hi Lottie - as we know, the wonderful Paul O'Grady sadly died just two days ago and already they're talking about a replacement to host his TV show 'For the love of Dogs!' This seems so disrespectful, as his funeral is yet to take place. I understand why the show should eventually carry on to help raise funds for homeless/ lost dogs, etc., but it'll never be the same without him and no one can ever fill his shoes! RIP kind Paul. :o(

Hi Smudge - I think even Paul would agree with moving forward and not holding back.
It looks like Paul lived life knowing that this may happen to him due to his family history - how absolutely heartbreaking for him and his family
I don't know anything about Stephen Mulhern who could be a candidate to take over Paul's role.

Can anyone here enlighten me a little please.
Perhaps there's another way of looking at it. Finding someone to take the show over is a tribute to the great success he made it. The animals being so dear to him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind at all.
I only know Stephen Mulhern from Catchphrase, LB. He seems very nice. Easy going.
I agree and I think he would want whoever it was to start doing it asap. No mucking about as he would say.
Thanks N, he sounds as if he would definitely be a good candidate.

Hi Smudge. I agree that it won't be the same without Psul, and perhaps too early to be talking about a repayment. I can't think of many celebrities who would come anywhere near his total connection with animals, like sitting on the floor with them and covering them in kisses. I would do the same!!

He was a national treasure.

I hope you're here to stay!! X

Replacement not repayment!!

Perhaps Kate Humble?
Just had a quick look. LB, and it seems he likes animals. He did this:

... and presented 'Animals do the funniest things'. He's also got a dog.
