hymie, what has that got to do with fraudulent accounts? That's a well known scam using legitimate accounts.
Hymie, that has got to be the most rubbish I have read from you ever, and thats a fair bit of rubbish read.

You clearly dont have the first clue about Banking and certainly dont understand what the scams actually are and also seem totally vacant with regard to what the Banking systems around the world do for fraud.

People like you with so little knowledge but claim to have all the answers are dangerous.

So these people scamming billions of pounds (using push-payment frauds), whereby the money is transferred into a legit account (let’s say for the purposes of this scam, it is my bank account), and you’re telling me that the bank would do nothing, and I could keep all the money – why isn’t everyone perpetrating this scam?

And why was a criminal gang flying in eastern Europeans to open fraudulent bank accounts in the UK in order to scam people, when they could just use their own current account?

hymie: ".....and you’re telling me that the bank would do nothing, and I could keep all the money – why isn’t everyone perpetrating this scam? " - we do what can be done, if we know the account is iffy believe me it's frozen. If I scam you into putting money into my account, then that's not the bank's problem is it, both accounts are legit? If there is a sniff we can act but we have to act within the law. You really are clueless about this.
So if these accounts are legit, why aren’t the banks refunding the fraudulent transfers automatically and taking the money back from the account into which they were transferred ?

If the bank did this it would be the end of push payment fraud; or are you saying that I can indeed commit this fraud and because the banks have to act within the law – there is nothing they can do about it?

hymie: "So if these accounts are legit, why aren’t the banks refunding the fraudulent transfers automatically and taking the money back from the account into which they were transferred ?" - because it's nowt to do with the banks.
Ok lets play for a minute. If I stole something out of your locker at the gym by stealing your key would you blame the leisure centre?

take your time.
