Will You Be Joining The Chorus?

I swore my allegiance to "Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the second, her heirs and successors" when i was in the army, so i suppose i've already done so. I'm still dithering on whether or not to accept the invitation to the ceremony. I'm told that Chas has invited me because he doesn't want to be the only one wearing a Burnley FC shirt on the day.

anneasquith, Meghan won't be there - and Harry will be relegated to the background.
I feel sorry for Charles really. The late Queen was such a hard act to follow. After her long reign and all the fun of her jubilee last year, this Coronation feels like a bit of a damp squib. It can't be easy for him.

In my opinion there has only been two Monarchs in my lifetime, George V1 and Elizabeth 11. I had already sworn my allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. From hereon after my allegiance and responsibility is to my Wife, kids and Grand children. I doubt I will bother to watch the Coronation ceremony because it isn't the original format and has been tinkered with by Charles 111 who really thinks his opinions count for anything.
//Retro, he’s the king so his opinions do count.//
Naomi,
He is now but I am talking about his time as POW. He is the Patron of the Royal Society of Architects and many a time I escorted him to their annual dinners at HQ on the edge of Regent Park. Because he was associated with this society we often had to listen to his comments in and around the capital about certain buildings. Does 'Giant Carbuncle' spring to mind about the New Tate? He poked his nose in about the future of designs for Wellington Barracks and other buildings and proposed developments. He has often been criticised for his opinions ,in writing, to government departments in his spidery scrawl. He was a king in waiting then and had no business in getting involved in political decisions imo.

I wouldn't normally touch this paper with a barge pole but it kind of backs up what I think also about the meddling of the, then,Prince of Wales. My apologies I said Wellington Barracks in my previous post and meant Chelsea Barracks. Unlike Wellington Barracks, Chelsea Barracks is a relatively new building and has no historical or architectural value apart from the tragic Chelsea Bridge Road IRA nail bombing of a military coach .
