I am an ex-pat born UK lived all my life in Oz but back here now x 4 years. I am 50,000 words in to my first big work which I am loving. The thing is its about an Australian coastal town and all the goings on,etc,A a romance and a death. My question is should I try to find an agent here in Uk or should I try to find one in Oz? Where do you think I should try and market this book?Am I even in the right category here? OK thanks

You should get hold of a copy of the Writers and Artists Yearbook. This lists all of the agents in the UK and contains loads of advice. Basically, look for a agent who deals with work in a similar field to yours, check their submission guidelines and take if from there.
As for whether you should go UK or Oz, that would depend on which territory you think you would sell most copies in - given the populations of each, the UK's likely to be the best bet. Foriegn rights are always worth much less than domestic rights.
