...surely we can give councils the power to move these animals on quicker. They leave carp everywhere and steal anything that's not nailed down and for good measure this time they've vandalised the pavilion. Scum.

The highest order.
I’ve told this story before but it’s worth telling again, a few years ago we had these utter scum make camp at my rugby club.
It took us two weeks to get shot of them, but in that two weeks they robbed the club, the local shops and pubs had to close because of violence and intimidation, and when they eventually left it took a team of volunteers to clear the mess they left, which included a load of human waste and soiled nappies.
They also churned up the pitches and they were left unplayable for months.
They are scum of the highest order and I hate them with a passion.

//Chief Superintendent Clare Jenkins, area commander, said: "Officers... will visit an encampment at least three times a day to make an assessment as to the number of people on site, their welfare, and the impact on the local community."//
That's not proper policing. Once again the police are ruddy social workers. The fact of the matter is the police are scared of them.

I've mentioned this before but I think worth repeating. A council, who shall be nameless has a very effective system, as soon as the travellers land the council arrive with a crane and a lorry full of concrete blocks. The travellers are told they have an hour to move on or they will be blocked in. So far they have all moved on inside the hour.
