communists believe that all history is controlled by the inevitable conflict between classes which will one day result in a society without any classes at all... they usually think any means necessary is acceptable to get there including mass murder dictatorship and all that!
that is not what i think and it is not what most leftists think in the modern day!!!
i didn’t google it lol i have actually bothered to read what real communists write and listen to what they say. if i were one then i would not deny it.
you do not understand what the word means and you are pointing the finger at me because i asked a question you cannot answer. what does a modern day tory actually believe in? what is the party in power to achieve?
untitled: "you are just admitting that toryism is not about what you believe at all, it's about the party! " - well that's a communist leap of illogic if ever there was one. No party has clones, we all have variations of general beliefs.
untitled: "communists believe that all history is controlled by the inevitable conflict between classes which will one day result in a society without any classes at all." - Then they create the most class ridden society in history. "The Party" in the Soviet union had their own schools, shops even their own traffic lanes! So what went wrong?
what went wrong is that the party was always able to say that true communism was just around the corner… they just had to get rid of these people first, enslave these people, wait x many years, defeat this enemy… it was always “jam tomorrow” while the party feasted and raped and killed whoever it wanted and feathered its own nest. the principal of “any means necessary” to see through the class war enabled them to justify anything and they did.
I hope i have established that i am not a communist… i absolutely abhor that system
now back to my question… what does the modern tory party actually believe in other than itself?
i note that i am in discussion with at least two tories about what their party actually stands for and they are mainly interested in calling me a communist
my point could not be proven more perfectly! you have nothing. you believe in nothing.
I am a social democrat… i believe that the power of the super-wealthy distorts our democracy, makes the country less free and the cause of many of our problems and i believe in peacefully containing that power within a system that is basically capitalist
but my personal beliefs are not important even if you disagree with them… the question is about starmer “becoming a tory” and i wish to know what a tory is. in my opinion tories believe in nothing save being in charge and maybe “owning the libs”… what does the modern day tory party actually believe in?
I’ve voted Tory ever since I was old enough to vote because I’m a believer in low taxation, little regulation, small ‘g’ Government and people making their own success.
I don’t recognise the current Tory party as being proper Tories, and therefore for the first time ever, and I find it sad, I do not intend to vote at the next GE because there’s not a party that represents my views and values.
