My rumour circle alerts me that there will be a mass surrendering of firearms authority cards from those officers SHOULD the outcome be a guilty verdict at the trial.  We want them, we need them and we should back them.  But as stated here many times - don't pre-judge, let us wait and see.

A shot to the head from close range. No gun was found in the vehicle.

The car was stopped to exit the driver. Presumably the police were wearing bullet proof body armour.
Independent Office for Police Conduct has fully investigated the case which is why there is now a trial for murder.

There is at least one very important difference in the scenario you reference though, retrocop.

This site is soo frustrating. I still cannot send the link to the above post of mine. If you type in: Police Officer Patrick Hodgson acquitted at the Old Bailey: you will read a very uncanny similarity to the current shooting in Streatham. Look for the Independent thread

//A shot to the head from close range. No gun was found in the vehicle.//

Doesnt mean the copper didnt think his life was in danger.

//The car was stopped to exit the driver.//

And? Was the engine running, where you there?

//Presumably the police were wearing bullet proof body armour. //

So what? Wont protect you from a bullet to the head or Femoral artery or being crushed by a vehicle.

//Independent Office for Police Conduct has fully investigated the case which is why there is now a trial for murder.//

The IOPC are not a Court, and the case is bought by the DPC not the IOPC.

I will say it again, stop the trial by media, let the Judicial process take its course.

Doesn't say why they were following him either.

This is a terrible burden on ARU members, not something I would like to face - I would probably shoot first ask questions later.

To then face Trial By Media is rubbing salt in - surely any reporting should be proscribed as sub judice.

The copper is a scape goat, the guy was killed by the majority of criminal scum drug dealing blacks and their activities. End of. Maybe the guy was innocent but he is still a victim of criminal scum. There will be miles of yoghurt knit over this but we are sacrificing a good copper on the altar of PC row locks.

Barsel, the car was thought to be linked to a firearms incident the previous day.  See gromit's link.

retrocop - // Seems like deja vu to me.Almost exactly the same sequence of events that occurred in Barnes in the 1990s. The police officer was a former firearms instructor who was in a ARV with a WPS i/c. They saw a vehicle outside a convenience store on one side of Hammersmith bridge . It had one occupant (driver) and the passenger entered the store. The registration matched a car circulated previously as involved in armed robberies. The sergeant drove across the front of the stationery car and PC Pat Hodgson stood in front of the suspect vehicle. The driver tried ramming the police car to make an escape and the officer,'fearing for his life' fired a double shot through the windscreen. The driver died later in Queen Mary's hospital . PC Hodgson was charged with murder and after a trial at the CCC was acquitted. I remember that day as if yesterday. They bought PC Hodgson to the nearby base I operated from and he was grey in the face.He was placed in a room incommunicado until investigators interviewed him under caution. //

That does not mirror the situation as advised thus far - there is no mention of the victim's car attempting to ram a police vehicle, or the officer in fear of his life, which would possibly mitigate a fatal shot.

But as far as we know, there was no such attempt to escape, so the situation is not similar.

We can't say the situation wasn't similar.  We don't know what happened.  Very few details have been given.

A bit of background to the incident. Kaba had plenty of previous, and was obviously rather a disturbed individual. His mam says he was a lovely lad who was always up for a laugh. I won't post the lyrics from some of his songs as I dont want the web trackers to associate even my pseudonym profile with them. But you can look up "Let's Lurk" to be going on with.

As usual we'll be putting a decent copper through the wringer for at best being wrong about something that he'd be right about 9 times out of ten. If the lad is innocent then he's a also a victim of the black crime epidemic. Next!

TORATORATORA, "he'd be right about 9 times out of ten."

Generally speaking then, if only about ten per cent of shots are fired unlawfully, that is an acceptable proportion, is it?

TORATORATORA, "As usual we'll be putting a decent copper through the wringer"

What all do you know about him then, anything?

I have no idea if the cop is guilty or not; but it does occur to me that being wrong 9 times out of 10 seems a lot worse than 1 time out of 10.

We'll have to see how it goes.

I love how the MSM are painting the victim out to be some sort of angel, found a nice smiley pic, new job, dad to be , etc etc...was he a talented aspiring rapper also ?

surely any reporting should be proscribed as sub judice.

no, hasnt been charged, ALTHO people are trying to get all discussion ever before trial banned

I would have thought - the defence that 'I thought he wd shoot me' would prevail - esp as the car had been 'flagged'
