Closer working and more positive relations with EU should be good but only if we can make sure we benefit and dont just end up paying in but getting little in return or having to accept tens of 1000s more asylum seekers. The word affiliate membership can mean anything.... have  details been given as to exactly what it would costs us and what we get in return?

Gulliver I know many have asked before but it would help if you could let us know in what country you now reside in order that we are able to judge your standard of living under that Government against ours under our current Government. All we ever have from you is assertions without any physical evidence.

Also it is a good job for the Tories,  that Starmer is leader of the Labour party because if it is as you claim that we have a corrupt Governement, a decent Labour leader would have a much more commanding lead in the polls.

Gramps82, gulliver will never answer that question.  Us being able to compare where he lives to here would be to much for him to handle.  He only seems happy when he is hurling abuse at our government.  I expect that if Labour did get in at the next election he would find fault with that too.  Wherever he does live must be so great though that he wants to spend so much of his life on here worrying about us.
