Ugly blot on the landscape, or sympathetically designed for its surroundings ? What do you think ? I'm in the ugly blot camp.

Quote from article "Most objected to the proposed felling of five of the site’s 15 mature Scots pine trees to make way for a new house for McCartney, who has campaigned against deforestation."

Based only on that render...it's hideous and does nothing to enhance the surrounding area. And why, oh WHY do trees need to be cut down? At least work with them!

Reading that article got me madder and madder Canary.  Have to go for a shower now to cool myself down.  Oh and I agree with you 120%.  What a two faced madam she is!

Definitely ugly blot

To quote the King: "It's a monsterous carbuncle on the face of humanity"!

It's like Emma  Thompson flying across the Atlantic to attend an extinction rebellion rally in London!

Ugly and I presume its a second home.  The locals who oppose it are right. She probably won't be spending much time there.

It's cutting down the trees that gets me, well one of the things that gets me.

Living as we do where 2nd homes have taken over and are empty most of the time, this has taken place.  The house is a total monstrosity.  But the locals have now won!  :0))

Me too LB!

People seem to think that these "celebrities" support a cause because they believe in it whereas, in reality, it's just a means of keeping their face in the public eye. cf, the Sussexes who've just jetted off on holiday somewhere..

Very true!

If it was remote enough it would hardly matter what it looks like.  And I think it is ugly.

Did they really need to cut down trees to build it?

She's been refused Planning Permission Sandy.

Cut down trees for THAT?

Good God, what is she thinking?

That's good news LB, thank you for heads-up.

Oh, so pleased that that monstrosity is to be demolished!  If someone wants to build such a hideous building then let them build it on the container docks at Felixstowe where it won't look out of place,   How they were every given persmission for  needs investigating

who says its been refused?  On mine it says "under consideration"

i cant comment on the OP as i havent seen the plans
