^^^Canary gets things wrong many many more times than he gets things right, so this is just another to add to that ever growing list.

From the article

///After he was freed and exonerated by our office, he visited prosecutors at our office and participated in training to help our staff do their jobs in the fairest and most thorough way possible."

Broward assistant state attorney Arielle Demby Berger added: "I've gotten to know Mr Cure, 'Lenny', these past years and he has encouraged our work as well as helped us train future generations of prosecutors.///

Yet he seemingly did something that made the cop feel he needed to kill him. Mmmm!

How do you know what colour the officer was.

barsel: "Yet he seemingly did something that made the cop feel he needed to kill him. Mmmm!" - did you read the link? he attack the copper who tazered him twice and used hi baton, in the end he shot him.

TTT where does it say 'someone' saw him attack the officer or was it the word of the cop?

And I'd still like to know how deadly and threatening was his force as compared to that used by the officer(s)? Why shoot to kill?

We do not yet know the full circumstances so it is too early to criticize the actions of the officer yet until investigated.

I can tell you that officers are trained to shoot to incapasitate an assailant when they feel their lives or of others are threatened. It is not a cowboy film. If you draw your weapon you have to justify its use and are supposed to fire two shots ( double tap) into the body mass (chest area) to put the assailant down. If close enough a third shot to the head can be considered (  a Mozambique.) No such rubbish as shooting in the leg or shooting guns out of hands etc.

Their was an assassination attemt on the Israeli Ambassadeur to the UK in Park Lane as he was attending a function in a  Hotel. Ashot to the spine paralysed him for life. His SB protection officer chased the assailant around the corner where he faced the assassin aiming his gun. He fired but it jammed. The SB officer emtied his .38 revolver ( 6 shot) into the would be assassins body. The assailant, after attending St Mary's Hospital Paddington was in Paddington Greens charge room the next day charged with attempted murder. We soon got issued with Glocks with a stronger bullet and multi shot magazine. Try aiming accurately for specific body parts to 'just wound' when your heart and adrenalin is pumping you armchair heroes.

21:01, bang on retro thanks for the insight. Armchair experts think they know best.

Pasta, exactly. He had been tasered twice and a baton was used.

He obviously wasn't harmed so why shoot to kill?

He couldn't have been in a fit state to do the officer much harm.

TTT entirely different situation.

If it's too early to criticise the police office it's also to early to support his version of events.

he could be lying through his teeth.

That should be armed not harmed.

barsel "

I have a female friend who was having an affair with a male police marksman who thought it was great fun to have actually shoot a guy at last.

She finished the affair after realising that he was a psycho!

He had no remorse, thought it was funny.

Majority of police that Ive had interactions with

(though not all) have been psychos or socially inadequate in some ways

Retro, I don't see how the officer thought his life was being threatened by a man who had been tasered twice, had been hit with a baton, and didn't have a gun.

Barsel - I don't know either, none of us were there.

We need to wait for the story to unfold, and hear the facts.

Speculation is pointless in these situations.

Exactly...although with corroborating evidence we may never know what actually happened.
