'If Islam hadn't existed, well....I hardly know where to begin, but just to say the Twin Towers would still be standing, Lee Rigby wouldn't have been decapitated on the streets of Woolwich, and all the children would have come home from the Ariana Grande concert."
Well said. Some people are dangerously naive.
Some atrocities, yes. Not the exact same atrocities at the exact same time. But some of the same people ... yep. Because the people is the problem, just like:
* Most Muslims don't harm anybody
* Other religious people harm other people too
It's people that's the problem. And that's from someone who thinks all organised religion is a crock.
Ah you had to say "in Britain" and "in the last 20 years" rather than just "name all the Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Sikh and Hindu terrorist attacks anywhere" - why's that? Does it make your narrative fit better? I think if you look further afield in geography or history, you'll find other examples, of all religions and none.
But if you want in Britain in the last 20 years, try this:
If you want further afield, try just this lot in the Punjab from many, many examples:

There is a difference between what is done in the name of Islam and what others do in the name of their religion. Unlike any other religion, Islam can and does, through its literature, justify its actions and the sooner the apologists wake up to that fact - and it is a fact - the better. Whether ignorant or naive, they are doing the world no favours. Islam cannot be compared to any other religion on the planet.
