It does beg the question why is Israel still flying planes to Russia. And why Makhachkala of all places.

"Pogrom" is a Russian word. (Although as Dominic Sandbrook reminds us in the Times last Saturday England doesn't have a good record down the ages on antisemitism).
I suppose one could be kind and say that the protesters in Georgia when Russian planes land in Tbilisi are making a political point and not protesting against the Russian Orthodox Church ;-).

Ukraine by the way is banning the Russian Orthodox Church but I think they have a good excuse there.

Putin's Axis of Evil summit with Hamas last week was predictable although it does bring risks for his lame attempts to pose as the voice of compassion and reason. 

Frightening doesn't go far enough.

I see resident Kremlin drunk (sorry spokesperson) Zakharova is blaming this incident on the "Kiev regime".

Their obsession knows no bounds it seems
