I can't even remotely imagine what that new mother must be suffering - or the mother of the baby captured. Surely no one can condone this?

I cannot really begin to imagine the suffering of those involved or those connected with them. At the same time I can also try to imagine the suffering of the many innocent Palestinians in Gaza, or for example, the suffering of those displaced by the spreading settlements on the West Bank. If that makes me perceived on here as anti-Semitic, so be it.
Atheist, another making irrational and offensive statements. Anyone with an iota of humanity cares about all babies - but this question relates to two. One delivered by a terrified mother in God knows what circumstances - and the other brutally snatched from his mother by terrorists who will have no hesitation in slaughtering him in cold blood. Try to address the morality of that - which is the substance of this question.
Naomi. I think you are missing a certain human capacity to empathise and understand certain emotions. You have fixed ideas about right and wrong in your world, and a quasi-religious faith that your 'book' gives you the 'truth'. I may not be right (and I'm sure you will reassure me about my mistake) but perhaps you might ponder a little.
