I See The Israelis Have Resumed Exercising Their "Right To Self Defense".
Reports say 30 Palestinians have been killed this morning.
When will western governments come to see that they're watching acts of bloody revenge that wouldn't be out of place in one of the gorier sections of the Old Testament?

> Hamas had started it and now Israel will,as promised, finish it once and for all.
Israel is a country, Hamas is not. Israel may kill Hamas, the problem is that they are also killing innocent people who are not Hamas, including thousands of babies. I do not mention dead babies to pluck the heartstrings, I mention them because they are indisputably innocent human beings that have been killed by choices made by Israel.
> All these innocents were basically murdered indirectly by the Hamas terrorists on 07/10/23.
Israel has choices ... they are not some kind of Pavlovian dog that drools just belong a bell rings. Israel can carry on as they are, or they can do things differently, killing fewer innocent people. It's their choice.
> Ellipsis, how can Israel do things differently? Hamas, by doing what it is doing, is killing its own people.
That's the same thing as ynnafymmi said at 13:31, and my response is the same at 13:37:

genocide is never under any circumstances an acceptable means of self defence. never ever.
israel has contributed enormously to bringing this situation about... it supported hamas materially for years in pursuit of disgraceful political aims. had they not done that, hamas would not be in the position they are now. this is not a war between good and evil - it is a war between a murderous faction of terrorists on the one hand and a genocidal colonial regime on the other. both are quite happy to put huge numbers of civilians to death including children and babies... and neither one should be supported.
israel's alternative would be to engineer a coup within gaza to bring down the hamas government and allow the strip to unify with the palestinian authority... factions like fatah are far preferable to hamas and would prove useful partners in doing this. it would take work but it could be done.
israel has discounted such a strategy because it prefers hamas to a unified palestinian authority - so hamas is what it got and they encouraged it willingly. if you sow terror you reap terror.
Israel have a right to self-defence. They were brutally attacked by Hamas on Oct 7th. This is a proscribed terrorist organisation whose very purpose is the destruction of Israel. The only answer is the complete annihilation of Hamas. If the arab countries like Egypt,Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, opened their doors for Palestinian civilians to flee to while Hamas get completely annihilated, this would help. But they won't, as they don't care for human life, and don't agree that the Jewish people should have a homeland of their own. The civilians in Gaza, and the civilians in Israel, are innocents, but sadly, they are now in the middle of a war between Hamas and Israel, and the only answer is the complete annihilation of Hamas.
