The last six Tory PMs: John Major, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak ... have been made leader and therefore PM by the Tory MPs, not anybody else! These are the same Tory MPs who then snipe at ... John Major, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak! It's pathetic. If the right of the party is so strong, why aren't they leader ... and, if they were, would we expect the more centrist Tories to snipe back at them? Why don't they just all lead the country, like they're supposed to?

Labour took us into NATO, the Conservatives into Europe. In a sense it's impossible to compare or contrast, but currently the Tory party is further to the right than at any time I've known it certainly when it comes to relations with Europe
