this is the right thing to do in my opinion and inevitable, but can we now expect marches in london against it, joined of palestine and yemeni marches against pro zionist crusader islamophobes, just wait for the pictues to come out of civilians killed, obviously women and children and an obligatory hospital and school.

We should be bombing Iran as well! That's the rats' nest.

Definitely the right thing to do.

Doing nothing is not an option. We now have to see what form of retaliation takes place & act on that.

Where is the EU ? it seems to struggle as usual with a clear response to the Middle East conflict, probably searching for a 'democratic' decision from 27 members as it did with covid .

Thank God for Brexit!

no be serious ( yes yes I  know this is AB) there will be zilch. just wait and see. People of Gazaa dont give a toss about Houthis ( straight from the hills) bombing passing ships - unless it is food that they cd eat !

The EU doesn't have an airforce (!)

Brexit may be good or bad but what on earth relevance has it here?

or intervention in Ukraine

27 more cumbersome than 1 ( a committee of one gets things done)

also 'quicker to start wars' may not turn out to be a great advantage of Brexit

The funniest thing I've seen is people moaning about the assault of Yemen's "territorial integrity" - a country that's been in a civil war for years, plagued by the terrorism of Ansar Allah who some like to call the "Houthi rebels"

Brexit may be good or bad but what on earth relevance has it here?

because Boris bonka leapt forward to assist Ukraine whilst Europe dithered and he could only do that if we had brexited. same here

but hey you really knew that anyway huh

when I was taking  arabic lessons from a yemeni in 1980, the country was in absolute chaos ( marxist paradise)

fave film - mad max - just saying for chrissakes

Come on Peter that's nonsense.
Membership or otherwise of the EU has nothing to do with this. As I recall we invaded Iraq, intervened in Sierra Leone, the Balkans, Libya etc while in the EU. As for  Ukraine  countries do their own thing to provide military support regardless  of the EU: eg Norway, UK (not in EU); eg Lithuania (EU) the biggest contributor in terms of percentage of national wealth of any country in the world

slow lumering decision making in 27 countries

quick in one....

it is quite possible that I am the only one to see that - I am used to being in a minority of one

Putin has warned the west about "any nonsense in Yemen"

Ha ha ha ha

Every credit to Sunak for taking this decisive action, and supporting the US against this aggression.  Enough is enough.

I don't want to labour the point too much but isn't the Netherlands in the EU?

I agree with the actions, but it is odd that why it's the USA and UK is not reported ...

"British and American forces rained bombs on Iran-backed rebels in Yemen last night using warships, fighter jets and submarines."

Er - British means UK I think.

ichi //Brexit may be good or bad but what on earth relevance has it here//

You don't seem to get it do you? Britain has been able to act independently to protect it's own interests. But the fact is, in doing so it appears to be also protecting the interests of Brussels who (as yet) have said nothing that I can find, though all EU countries are suffering the consequences of the Houthis in the Red Sea. In fact if you think about it, cargo destined for say EU Italy, not only has to go around the Cape but enter and cross the Med.

So while the EU prevaricates, Britain acts - nice for them !

I now see Russia has condemned the attacks as a 'violation of international law aimed at an escalation in the region to attain their destructive objective.'

Unlike Putin's entirely constructive Special Military Operation.

You couldn't make it up!

If Russia feels peeved at action taken against those attaching shipping it only has to try to hold a military operation against one of those involved. Putin may then find thst trying to invade his neighbours is the least of his concerns.

Peter P......I think you should pay more attention to ABs
