Islam is a blight on this planet - and that's my honest opinion.

Ditto.

TBF all religion is a blight but islam seem to be going through their Spanish Inquisition phase at the moment and seem to want to kill us or convert us so we need to nip that in the bud but like in 1932 we will wait until the problem gets massive and then have a massive problem to deal with.

The rise of a poisonous force in a modern western country should be stamped on now, before it gets any worse but our leaders are either too lazy/scared/hopeless to do anything about it.

I guess it'll just have to wait for civil war and winner takes all.

^^^^ what they said!

Just another xenophobic thread for the usual suspects to drool over.

Kumbaya, Canary. x

Canary, your opinion obviously differs to royfromaus,

"Tell me why we should encourage Islam if your opinion differs to mine."

Would you care to explain?

I gave my honest opion[sic] - if it offends it shouldn't be invited.

Canary, rather than attack others with spurious accusations simply because they don't agree with you why don't you answer the question and tell the OP why we should encourage Islam?

Xenophobia is intense dislike of foreigners or foreign countries. This thread is surely about people who would describe themselves as British?

The important thing is not to confuse islamists and Moslems.  88% of gaza are moslems not islamists.    So  my answer would be we shouldn't encourage Islam

But encourage is a strange word to use.  We shouldn't encourage any religion, nor should we should we be intolerant those who may not share our religious views or don't look or dress like us, but  fit in with our lifestyle and laws and offer something to us.

I agree with Prudie.

Backward, intolerant, misogynistic, with no place in western culture - but they will never stop and Europe (including the UK) will be under Islam's yoke within a 100 years

//The important thing is not to confuse islamists and Moslems//

The difference being .....?

12:01...and the sad thing is it will be done under our own system with the collaboration of our own trobiscites like canary and co.

I have no problem with any (well probably most, but I ain't wasting time checking) religions. Believe whatever myths that help you live a decent life. What I have issue with is the extremists who feel it is their duty to bully and intimidate others to comply with their ridiculous demands.  Although I've little detailed knowledge about Islam I understand that it has no overall council interpreting the beliefs and various documentation for the whole world, but a local area simply elects someone for the job. That way you get any sort of view being pushed as official policy. Besides who knows if the representative was elected by a free & fair ballot (or however they're picked) or whether pressure was applied to achieve a coup. As things stand the Islam religion has real issues where the reputation of the dregs gets applied to the decent members too. It seems they need a massive shift in how they organise and reform, if only they would accept that.

Naomi  I thought you would be aware with your interest in religion.

From lottie's link.  //a political ideology that strives to derive legitimacy from Islam.//

Highly misleading - but given the sources that's unsurprising.  'Islamism' does derive legitimacy from Islam.
