But encourage is a strange word to use. We shouldn't encourage any religion, nor should we should we be intolerant those who may not share our religious views or don't look or dress like us, but fit in with our lifestyle and laws and offer something to us.
I agree with Prudie.
I have no problem with any (well probably most, but I ain't wasting time checking) religions. Believe whatever myths that help you live a decent life. What I have issue with is the extremists who feel it is their duty to bully and intimidate others to comply with their ridiculous demands. Although I've little detailed knowledge about Islam I understand that it has no overall council interpreting the beliefs and various documentation for the whole world, but a local area simply elects someone for the job. That way you get any sort of view being pushed as official policy. Besides who knows if the representative was elected by a free & fair ballot (or however they're picked) or whether pressure was applied to achieve a coup. As things stand the Islam religion has real issues where the reputation of the dregs gets applied to the decent members too. It seems they need a massive shift in how they organise and reform, if only they would accept that.
