Says it all, really - we're in the doldrums. Sometimes we're north of the equator, other times south, but we're not going anywhere fast. This news is hardly going to change anybody's mind, and is more likely to reinforce their existing opinion ...
The opening words in that article:

A couple of weeks ago there was a reduction in the rate of inflation. The Prime Minister, Rishi Soonaxed, said this was good for businesses. No mention of us, the great unwashed, as with these latest figures. Will anyone benefit from this? Only businesses, probably, who will continue to reap the benefits of any change at our expense.

Business creates wealth, nothing else, everything else errodes wealth, especially the state and public sector. By saying it was good for business he was saying it was good for us all.
