Despite The Tories lying to the electorate and desperately trying to gain votes. Their Rwanda Plan just ain't working is it. As Record high migrant channel crossings for the first five months of a year.

117 immigrants arrived on Thursday Bringing the total  so far this year to 9,681 This figure is already higher than the first five months of any previous year.

The cumulative number of small boat arrivals 2024 is now 41% higher  than at this point in 2023.  So that means Rishi Sunak has been telling lies( Not for the first time by A Tory PM in the present Govt). When he said the number of immigrants arriving was falling. Oh Dear.

I honestly don't think the Rwanda Plan would work anyway, regardless of who was in power, assuming another party put the plan forward, of course. It'll just get bogged down with appeals, and court cases dragging on forever.

It's working well enough at this point given the circumstances. If the government ever finds the guts to do what's needed to get it going properly, and clear the wreckers out of the way, it'll go a lot better.

Speaking on 22 April, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the first flight to Rwanda would leave in 10 to 12 weeks.  This is week 3 Gulliver.  Chill out.  Come back on 15th July.  As always, this is not news, just you having a gripe and a snipe from your foreign country.  Sad.

Sinhead 0 @ 19.35 Why 10 to 12 weeks ? The Uk could have had a General Election in that time .And Rishi and his fellow Cons could be skipping and dancing amongst the Sunny Uplands by then. Carrying bags of taxpayers money with them. Leaving Labour to pick up the pieces of the most disastrous Tory Govt in history.

DTC, he spent it all saving this country from financial meltdown. The Tories would have done the same, and they know it. Labour saved peoples jobs, bank accounts, banks, businesses because of the action they took, brought on by the collapse of the sub-prime market in the USA. The Labour govt was praised by other countries for the action they took. They couldn't have done that without using what they had available. As I said, the Tories would have done the same.
