I wouldn't worry about it. I was reading today that when Armstrong returned from the moon he had to go through customs and declare moon rocks.
As for making things difficult for Brits ... well, they didn't for 40 years, did they? We were the ones who decided we didn't want easy customs and immigration.
jno. It was the French attitude towards the UK when we were members of the EU, which annoyed so many people. They were not satisfied until we curtailed to their demands and wishes. Since we took a Democratic decision to leave their club they have done everything they can to do us down.
The Normandy celebrations were designed to give thank, and remember the many thousands of allied military, men and women, who gave the lives so we can remain free. To wait for the paratroopers to land and ask for passports was, in my opinion, a step too far. Yes, if the paratroopers were to remain in France then passports should be shown, but they could have waited until the celebrations were over.
I have been to France a couple of times, but not in recent years and I have no wish to return anytime in the near future.
