Sunak Goes Missing

It's emerged tonight on Newsnight that the reason Sunak left the D-Day commemorations early - leaving Lord Cameron to be photographed in the leaders' line up and Keir Starmer to meet Zelensky -  was to come back to do an ITV interview to try to prove he's not a liar.

I think that's unforgivably disrespectful.  Why did nobody on his team tell him how bad it would look?

I don't know, but as an Indian, he may think differently than others.

I once had a Japanese friend who viewed many thing differently to how I did.

Similarly you could say the same about Russians, Chinese, Tibetans, etc.  - you name it.

Nope, this demonstrates serious lack of judgement. Any votes he may have secured by doing the interview would be dwarfed by those he lost by leaving the D-Day functions early. The sad thing is he could easily do both. In fact he could have made a show of delaying ITV et al and then done the interview anyway. School boy error.

Poor judgement from Sunak. I know if he'd have turned down the interview some would have said 'he was frit' but it could and should have waited. Big mistake

it's exactly the kind of thing that can tip some tory voters over into backing Reform. cannot help but feel he would not have been in this situation had he not lied during the debate however

it's being suggested on social media that until last week, Sunak had no plans to attend D-Day at all, telling the organisers in Paris that he was "too busy campaigning". when the French kicked off about that (rightly IMO), the resultant semi-visit was his compromise position.

Baloney; He's pure Indian. The fact he was born in England has nothing to do with it. He has thousands of years of Indian (Hindu) culture in his 'DNA'.
