erm just because kier starmer says he won't do something, it doesn't mean that he will not in fact do it

those of us on the left have learned that lesson many times over

Sir Keir says. Now that Labour have won the election. He can speak out more, and that he was carefull not to mention what he really intends to do about rejoining or not about the EU.  In fear of the Tories attacking what he said....  hmm OK.

it would make the slightest difference to ordinary folk, if we were in, or out of the EU. I still think that.

you are a few billion poorer - all spent on uselss paperwork and queuing - more regulation that's what we need ! and coming up

Labour will swiftly find out that you get nothing for nowt from Brussels. Any trading deal will be at the cost of surrender of something essentially a British possession; military, fishing or whatever.

yes that is because the EU is in the stronger position and can demand such things.

i cannot stand brexit. i never want to hear the stupid word again. i would much rather we make do with the crummy deal we have and just waste no more time on the whole sorry mess!!!

it's like when you have a mouth ulcer and you can't stop poking it with your tongue and make it worse. stop! just stop doing it!

For once I agree with untitled. We are out, we just need to get on with it and stop whining

At last Gulliver has realised that Starmer hasn't been honest with the electorate.

At least with Boris you knew everytime the mouth was open a lie would come out of it. You could guarantee it.

So was Starmer lying last week, Gulliver, when he said we wouldn't rejoin the EU in his lifetime?

unfortunately gulliver starmer lies just as often as boris johnson does. he is perhaps more skilful at it than boris but that's it

Personally I believe this is a case of Starmer telling the truth and gulliver telling pork pies (again).

Who is this 'we' you refer to, Gulliver?

Sinead 12.02   Hope he was😎

Starmers dad was a tool maker, so he's bound to have a short tenure!

We can all demand things. Size ain't any restriction.

The question is whether whoever one is demanding from will just roll over, or whether they will stick up for themselves.

Either both sides want a win-win situation, or one, or both are just trying to get one over the other, and are willing to cut their nose off to spite their face.

You know, like those who have had their nose put out of joint when a member escaped their clutches.

Just a few days on and already the country is heading for disaster.  Labour voters will repent at leisure.

Question Author

17.43Naomi.          "Labour voters will repent at Leisure".                     "Tory voters will repent Forever".

Saw this today as a headline in the Telegraph.  ‘I’m preparing to sell my 50 properties – Labour will be a disaster for renters’.  Doesn't that include you gulliver.  Landlords not liking what the Labour Party plan to do about no fault evictions.

Gulliver, Tory voters didn't lumber the country with a Labour government.  They've nothing to repent.    Already there are rumblings of huge tax rises in the autumn.
