At this late stage in the game I am not sure they will really have anyone apart from Michelle O, but she says she doesnt want it.

It's rediculous to be honest, everyone outside the Democratic bubble has seen this developing for years now.

Harris won't beat Trump, MO has a chance she is popular and competant but there is a huge amount of racism in the US. They need a big name to take on the Don.

It's going to be difficult to find someone who isnt toxic and who is willing to take the chance.  Whoever takes it on would be taking a real gamble and could scupper their chances of being President ever.  Some might think its better to wait until next time.

The other problem they have is Harris.  As VP she should be the one but she is terrible. This means skipping over her but that in itself would cause issues especially if replaced by a white man.

So the only choice I see is MO.

As I've said before on here, the current Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, would be a good choice - intelligent, well-presented, articulate and, as shown by his recent frequent travelling to and around the Middle East, easily up to the trials and tribulations of a presidential campaign.

Blinken would be a good choice but as YMB points out, he'd be a white bloke skipping over a black woman. That would get the trobiscites contorted!

And how would he get around the EDI appointment currently in the VP position?  

She is the first woman and also the first African American woman.  Replacing her with a middle aged striaght white male is a no-no.

But Kamala holds the trump card, at least in Democrat circles.  Mind you I'm not sure even the GOP would consider jumping over her.  Political madness.

 It would be natural for Kamala Harris as the vice president to take over, and have Anthony Blinken as her running mate. He could then stand for president in the future.
