Boris says the scandal from partygate was the downfall of him and the Cons. His apology was the beginning of the end of his days as PM. Now Defiant Johnson, rather than feeling a sense of remorse claims his mistake was to Apologise for Partygate. I was just trying to defuse public anger with pathetic apologies even though I knew nothing about what I was apologising for. And the band played believe it if you like🤣
Of course they should have stuck with Boris. When the country went to the polls in 2019 did the Tories really think all those Labour voters suddenly changed their politics? Not on your nelly! They voted for Boris. His downfall was in getting Brexit done - something that the majority of his party - and the rest - didn't want at all. They'd have been very happy to say to hell with democracy and to hell with the will of the people. He wasn't.

o god this thread has degenerated into the usual AB nonsense. He ( Boris, BoJo, Boris the liar) was voted to get Brexit done - along with the Boris BS, and the smoke and mirrors
and the rest, ( prescient for a change) didnt want it at all, because they knew what a disaster it wd all turn out to be
and so it has
Well, to be fair to Hymie - the idiot Tory PM Cameron set up a stupid referendum that required a straight majority, rather than - for example - a supermajority that would normally be required for such a momentous change; lies, social media, the weight of change and the Tory press was biased one way, for Brexit; and in the end, the vote went 37% to 35%, with 28% not voting. So, and especially given how well it has gone, no wonder Hymie and his ilk are still unhappy ...
I voted remain and am still unhappy we lost the vote, but the difference is I accepted that remain lost because I believe in democracy. This constant harping just screams to me that Hymie doesn't. But let's say even if there had to be a supermajority (and there wasn't so even raising it is irrelevant) and leave still won, he still wouldn't have accepted democracy.
18:35 why is a majority not good enough for you? We never even had a vote on joining. I can't think of anything in history that has had anything other than a simple majority, why do you think this should have been any different? Just sounds like more sour grapes because you lost. I can tell you why too. You did the one thing that always makes the British do the thing you don't want, you tried to frighten us. The whole remain campaign was project fear, no one on your side had anything positive to say, they merely tried to frighten us, history has shown that does not work. You call Cameron an idiot but the remainers lost the vote for him.
