For contempt of court for approx 18 months

"Tommy Robinson has been jailed for 18 months after admitting contempt of court by repeating false claims against a Syrian refugee.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, admitted 10 breaches of a High Court order made in 2021 during a hearing in Woolwich Crown Court."

But that was known right at the start of the thread, Newjudge...it's mentioned in the OPs link and has been mentioned a few times already, so I assume it still doesn't answer Naomi's question.

NJ, yes, we know that but why terror-related?  What act/acts of terrorism did they suspect him of?

They didn't suspect him of any link to terrorism. They had no right to raid his mothers house when all this first start. They made *** up so they could ransack her house and go through his computer.

I have no idea why people pretend we have a great policing service and great justice system.

His defence solicitor should have a field day then. That's assuming it's as clear cut as you say, clone. Maybe there's another side to the story though. We'll find out how things go at that trial.

I imagine they stopped him as they thought he may be trying to instigate trouble at the planned march on Saturday. The Terrorism Act isn't just about the acts of terrorism you would immediately think of.

So it was what they thought he might do.  Hmmm....

I'll ask this here as even the great TCL didn't know the answer.

Why did Kirklees council paid out a fortune in NDA's?

Atheist , //Politicians make laws. Judiciary makes sure that the laws are obeyed.//

but the judiciary have great leeway in how they hand out punishments, and it seems that more and more those punishments, as in this case, are politically motivated.

eg. & on a separate issue, the ECHR has more power than the government of the country.

Clone what does that have to do with TR?

Everything

//You asked for my opinon on the story and I gave it to you.//

You did and then I asked you a simple question you ignored.

Why do you think he is a bigot?

And does anyone else think is a terrorist like Plod seem to?

"And I am guilty of JOURNALISM."

Oh my please let me pick myself up off the floor

Question Author

Why do you think he is not a bigot?

Why do you think he is such despised and loved by many?

I see, typical lefty.  Answer a question with a question.

You bought it up so let us know why you feel that way.

//The fact that the judge in this latest trial, Mr Justice Jeremy Johnson refused to allow Robinson to make a statement in court is interesting. What were his motives? Was it to cover up the biased way in which Justice Matthew James Nicklin conducted the first trial?

Just over five months ago a new Transparency and Open Justice Board was created. There has been an obvious lack of transparency in this latest trial of Tommy Robinson and probably in the original trial conducted by Justice Matthew Nicklin too. Therefore this is an obvious case for the new Board to consider and I hope Robinson's lawyers will take up his case with the Board. There is, however, one little problem. The Transparency and Open Justice Board happens to be chaired by Justice Matthew Nicklin!//

The above was written by someone else but is both precise and alarming. We are being coralled into submission by the new totalitarian socialist regime.

This whole thing stinks. Our justice system is broken.

but david, he admitted it

He did indeed admit that he held the court held by Nicklin in contempt. If you had heard the testimonies, that were not allowed by Nicklin to be heard in his politicised courtroom, from the school Headmaster and pupils about the Syrian "schoolboy" who is at the centre of the original case where he eas awarded damages then you would too. The question is would you be brave enough to say so?
