this article by schoolsweek seems to suggest that NDAs are quite common among councils who are involved in PFI contracts and the school in huddersfield was one such school

is there any proof that these NDAs were to do with tommy robinson and not with PFI contracts?

One might think that ignoring the rule after it became moot from already being exposed might make it a lesser issue and consequently a minimal penalty.

dear old OG - what ? - moot here is used in the american sense of "decided" rather than the Brit 'to be decided' - and god knows how that makes it a lesser crime

That's only part of the reason, unclued. Staff members who accepted NDAs were secretly filmed and they can be seen and heard presenting a far less favourable character assessment of the boy in question. You don't have to go rooting around looking for cop-outs, just get over your ingrained attitude of not believing a word Robinson has to say - look at the interviews and hear what other people have to say about the boy.

but tommy robinson did not claim that the kid was unpleasant. he claimed that the kid had attacked girls didn't he? is there any proof that is true?

Whilst I would not be surprised if there were things put in place to prevent release of any information which might affect community relations and a reluctance to act for fear of being called racist or Islamophobic or similar (like the covering up/playing down of grooming gangs), I'm not clear whether an NDI would prevent someone from reporting a crime.
