Labour are in office, however small their share of the vote.
That's democracy.'
I agree, but that hasn't stopped many on here trying and begging for another chance to vote because it is suggested people did'nt know what they were voting for, and they are the very people who says we should accept the democratic vote that put Labour in power.

I answer that above it was 38% of those elligible 52% of those that voted.
It is only of statistical interest, we do not know how those that did not vote would have voted.
Same with the current government being elected with only 20% of the electorate. That does get mentioned because it is a stunning statistic considering the size of the labour majority.
our electoral system is extremely flawed and unsuitable... it should not be possible in a democratic country to form a government at all with only 20% of eligible voters. much less one with such a massive majority.. it is a good example of how broken and dysfunctional this country is.
tories however were quite happy with this system when it resulted in their "team" being in charge. as usual they are unprincipled creatures who believe in absolutely nothing. those of us with more integrity have long opposed the electoral system and argued for its replacement with a proportional one regardless of whether or not we like who is currently in government
