Tens of thousands back calls to rejoin the EU as a petition racks up thousands of signatures. MPs will certainly have to debate this call in the commons, now that enough signatures have been made.

After just 10,000 Signatures,,,The Govt must respond...

Many businesses must be praying he rejoins.

Responding probably means having a clerk send a quick email acknowledging receipt of the petition.  You really must try harder, gulliver - or better still, don't - unless you can find something that isn't your usual repetitive ancient history to talk about.

Gulliver, do you not think that signatures were collected back when the result of the Brexit Referendum was first announced?

It didn't make a blind bit of difference then and it won't now. You really need to let go and get on with your life.

A spokesperson for the petiton says ..and I agree with him.         . Brexit hasn't brought any tangible benefit and there is no future prospect of any ,and that the UK has changed it's mind and this should be recognised.

Your OP is dead, gulliver, and you are again using the news section solely as a platform to air your repetitive and utterly tedious rhetoric.

///A spokesperson for the petiton (sic) says....///

Well, he would, wouldn't he?!?

His words carry no greater weigh nor authority than mine do on the matter.

Looks like this is a serious petition then, after another Spokesperson says.   It's good to see members of the public leading the charge on ensuring that we open up the debate on rejoining.

Question Author

This is in todays News paper, The Independent..Naomi and it is news ,but it is not the sort of news that you want to read obviously.

If only you could do links and copy and paste instead of retyping (badly) extracts of these articles- you missed out , for example, the words "almost certainly" from the article which said "MPs will almost certainly debate the call in the Commons...."

It's a news item, gulliver - just not the news you claimed it is.

"Leaving the EU has left the UK poorer, less secure and taken away opportunities from young people and small businesses alike.  Every day damage is  done because of Brexit,,,Damage that could easily be reversed

112,000 constituents and 36 have signed the petition, here.

Aye, calls to rejoin the EU is definitely racking up. 🤣

Here's what the spokesperson for the petition actually said

"I believe joining the EU would boost the economy, increase global influence, improve collaboration and provide stability & freedom. I believe that Brexit hasn't brought any tangible benefit and there is no future prospect of (sic) any, that the UK has changed its mind and that this should be recognised."

I just used copy and paste. Much easier than retyping it and trying (failing) to get those pesky punctuation marks in the right place.

Oh, and here's a link. Simple. (No, not you gulliver1.... posting a link.)

This is Starmers chance ....go for it .. Get the UK back in the EU and make Britain ,,Great again.

It's even worse in Grimsby, just one signature from a small bedsit, apparently.

12:27 //"Leaving the EU has left the UK poorer, less secure and taken away opportunities from young people and small businesses alike.  Every day damage is  done because of Brexit,,,Damage that could easily be reversed//

I'll copy and paste what you meant to type, here: “Leaving the EU has left us poorer, less secure and taken away opportunities from young people and small businesses alike. Every day we see the damage that is being done, damage that could easily be reversed."

Clone @12:36...and thats spelt  incorrectly :-)
