No sooner you switch the TV on the begging starts. They've seem to be running out of wildlife options to beg for, we now have, give £3 a month to bring a cat in from the cold. Next it will be £3 for a Budgie OR, £3 a month to bring a Tory in from the cold. :0)
The RNLI bank account must have taken a battering over the last few years, this government and the previous have paid out millions to private hotels, and sadley still doing so. So pay some to the RNLI, their requirments money wise are of a fraction of hotel bills. At least the tax payer would still have some security and help if needed from the RNLI unlike hotel bills which there is no addvantage whatsoever.
No charity gets free TV advertising, they might get reduced rates for advertising slots off peak but that is the same for other advertisers.
The amount of truly depressing daytime adverts is appalling, relentless. If they aren't begging, they are flogging funeral plans, life insurance, care services or mobility aids.
