MSM gets a fair amount of flak for bias and not reporting some news etc. but, looks like they may have little choice. Apparently, in the UK at least, it's not permitted to tell the truth, or it gets slapped down.

They can tell the truth but have to choose their words carefully, as all media should. Had Gareth Roberts written 'was interviewed by writer Juno Dawson, a transgender woman, and so the conversation naturally turned to gender” there would not have been a problem

What an utterly ridiculous state of affairs...

Juno Dawson is a man wearing 'woman-face' and has made quite a good career from this grift. It is risible that he should be offended by being reminded of the biological facts when he expects women to welcome him with open arms.

They shouldn't have to choose their words carefully.  Men who pretend to be women are  not 'she' - they are 'he'.  They are men.  The demand that the truth be disguised is simply promulgating lies.  So much for there freedom of the press.  A disgraceful situation.  This country is going down the drain in more ways than one.

*the press

It used to be truth was paramount and sacrosanct, these days it can be twisted into whatever a person wants.

If the commentator doesn't choose his words carefully then the commentary could be more focused on him than the subject.

Blatant censorship by those who know what's best for us.

Now where have I seen that before? 😏

That's not a reason to lie, Barry, or to accept lies.

Stating that Juno Dawson is transgender makes the point and isn't a lie

Fine, state he is transgender, but referring to him as 'she' is a lie.

"I have a certificate"

This is how far we've fallen.

He can have as many certificates as you can shake a stick at, but he was born with a penis and is therefore a man.

10.29 - it is patently absurd isn't it.

A transgender woman may look like a man, not be in possession of ovaries, a uterus, have XY chromosomes and may still have a cock and balls, but because he has a certificate telling him he's a woman then he's a woman. It is bananas.

AB isn't immune to calling people out on pronouns. A few years ago I posted a thread about a man who was very clearly a man but was masquerading as a woman and I made the mistake of referring to him as he and him, and the AB Editor responded to me directly and said "She, Deskdiary, it's not that difficult". It was an abuse of their position to tell me how to think.

Deskdiary - I think we were in the grip of the 'Be kind' mindset, at that point, and it seemed a small grace to call a Transwoman "she". However, as the malevolence of the movement has gathered pace and be shown up for what it actually is, very few people are willing to jettison their principles (and common-sense) and refer to someone using pronouns completely unsuitable to their actual sex.

Using a full name instead of a 'preferred pronoun'  avoids compromising personal principles.

Naomi - That isn't enough for a lot of TRAs. It is the transgressive nature of being referred to as the opposite sex which floats their boats. Using names to avoid pronouns is considered to be aggressive and as bad as misgendering the delicate little flowers.

Completely preposterous, of course.

I can't help them with that, Jack.

Freedom of the press is dead.

This person is a bloke.  Say it how it is.

Bloke, end of. Silly sod.

The main stream media is biased wouldn't broadcat the truth has to put its particular slant on it.
