We never did watch this series, just caught an odd episode here and there. As there's a new Christmas special coming up we decided to watch every episode right from the beginning.

Started last night and watched first four back to back, thoroughly enjoyed it, relatively gentle comedy with some very witty lines

Having - made me giggle. One of my favourite series, as you say gentle comedy. My Mum came from South Wales, Bridgend, and some of the sayings- cwych up to your Bampi - remind me so much of her. It's a brilliant cast too. I'll be glued to the telly with my glass of Bailey's.

The cast is brilliant, they all seem so natural with each other

It's been the same cast for 17 years Vagus and apparently many of them were in tears at the end of filming.

I love Gavin and Stacy but wasn't keen on the Chistmas special a couple of years ago. I will watch this new one, because, how can I not.  I hope it's a goodun.

Like you, Barry, I never watched it either because I didn't fancy it but everybody I know raved on about it so much, I watched it right from the beginning and got hooked.  I love the fact that they are all called after serial killers!!!  Anyway, I hope there's a happy ending for Smithy and Nessa and we don't end up with a cliff hanger!!!!!

I enjoyed every episode, even though it feels a bit contrived. Why would you bring your Welsh friend and your Welsh uncle to every Essex family gathering? 
 

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the show.
