As the leader of the CDU, or as Gulliver calls it the CDP, said "We have a plethora of opportunities, at least in foreign and defense policy, that we (Britain and Germany) should explore together,” he said. “We Germans have a huge strategic interest in keeping the U.K. closely engaged in Europe.” Which is exactly where we are, free from the shackles of Brussels.
gulliver //..Britain to stand alone to receive the Bulk because they are not members of the EU.//
Exactly the opposite: because Britain isn't a member of the Schengen area, so the situation remains the same with the only people entering are doing so illegally entering -- that is unless this government wakes up & does something about stopping them.
What a ridiculous thread!
As I understand it, there are very few illegal migrants entering Germany directly from the place where they were allegedly in peril. They nearly all arrive from neighbouring EU countries. They are free to do this because of the EU's ridiculous Schengen Agreement.
So how is Germany going to "ban" them crossing their uncontrolled borders?
"Not sure its got anything to do with the EU though."
Germany's proposals aren't (if indeed they are what we are told - as usual with this OP here is no link to explain fully). But the opposition to those proposals will be everything to do with the EU.
Allowing fewer "irregular migrants" to remain in Germany will mean they shuffle around in other EU countries. The EU will see to it that the pain is evenly distributed and that Germany takes its "fair share".
