Will the blanket ban on smoking apply to casino's?

Yes and it will apply to betting offices .my daughter works in one and she doesnt smoke but comes out of there smelling of cigarette smoke on her clothes.

And pretty soon we will have the armed forces coming round & seizing ciggies from our houses because the next door neighbour can smell the waft through the wall.

Not that they will find any in my house..it's just a thought :o)

Exactly, wendilla!

I don't smoke or drink booze (what a good girl am I) but to be honest I find alcohol & drugs far more destructive & offensive than cigarette smoking. I am sure a lot of people raised in alcholic or drug addicted homes would agree with me.

I worked in casinos for 9yrs and, unless you've been in one, you cannot imagine how smokey these places are. Cigars were served at the tables as was pipe tobacco and of course cigarettes. Now, I'm not a smoker but I suppose I was on about 400 a day in there. The punters are mainly from abroad, for lack of better words, and I think this is not going to go down well at all! plus, the staff who do smoke are not allowed to leave the building, they had a smoking room. I think this is going to cost the clubs alot of money and I look forward to the goss from my old colleagues about how it's affected them and how they may get round it..........

As I live in Scotland, I've got just over a month before I wont be able to smoke in one of my favourite places, the bingo. It already has a slightly larger non-smoking area than the smoking area, even though its usually near empty. I dont really understand why the bans going to be happening in England, especially with these new 24 hour pubs, clubs, etc. Its a bit of a contradiction. Save your lungs, but damage your liver.
