After the death of Hindley, does anybody think he will reveal where the body of the missing victim is, or will he still refuse to give the information?
In the past both he and Myra Hindley have been to the area to try to find the right place. It is very difficult on the moors to pick out one spot from another and my personal belief is that after so much time has past he would now be unable to locate it.
I agree with WendyW. There would be no reason why he would refuse to tell them, it's more a case in my opinion that he just forgot. I've been on the moors I'd I got lost. The place your going to looks exactly the same as the place you've just been. So it must be hard to locate the victim.
Hindley and Brady just escaped being hanged because the law was changed just before their trial. However, the feeling at the time was that if any criminals deserved the capital penalty it was this evil couple. There was surely no possibilities of them being "the wrong people" or fitted up by the police.
Hindley's death was much postponed by the prison system, and Brady should be granted his sometimes expressed desire to commit suicide.
Perhaps not popular thoughts, but this can of worms is never far from the surface.
Over the years, I have often thought, yeah, maybe it is now justifiable to allow Hindley and Brady to be released. This was until about year or so ago when I watched a channel five documentary about the moors murders. On it they played the recordings of the pleas and cries for help of little Lesley Ann Downey, one of the pair's victims. It was then I understood the enormity and evil nature of these crimes, and I knew that Hindley and Brady should never be released.
Suicide is no longer a criminal offence. Legally anyone is entitled to starve themselves to death by a hunger strike, as Brady wants to. Brady's problem is that he has been diagnosed as mentally ill and therefore he is denyed his right to die. He has been on hunger strike for three years now and Ashworth have no plans to stop force-feeding him.
I concur with my colleagues' previoius answers - it is unlikely that Brady can remember the locations of the bodies, but it is interesting that even now, an aspect of this case can cause such massive interest and comment. I remember the case at the time, and have seen how the sheer horror and revulsion of the murders of these children has lived on in the public perception. I just feel so much for the relatives, to have all their pain dragged up again - there is no real justice to be had here anymore, just the anguish of inhumanity at its very worst.
Winnie Johnson has wrote numerous letters to the killers of her son (Keith Bennett) to try and find out where his body is lying. Hindley dieing gives us less chance of finding him now unfortunately because if one of the two were going to tell us where he is, it would have been Hindley.
There is a charity boxing match on the 12th of October to raise more funds to dig up the moors to give Keith a decent send off.
His Solicitor, A, hazlehurst told me in Dec 2000 that they were now injecting him, with mind numbing drugs, for no other reason than to silence him. So its hardly likely you will ever hear of, or off him again. His last visit to the Moor, he was totally disorientated, he hadnt a clue where he was. Its now just a matter of time before he dies.
