What is the title of the verse play which tells the story of a young pastor who refuses to comprise his religious beliefs that eventually costs the lives of his wife and of himself as he is driven out by his exasperated parishioners

i have thought about this for ages now !
It sounds very much like Ghosts by Ibsen ..Pastor Manders .
But I am not 100% certain .Sorry can't be of more help.
