Is it just me or can we get on with the real world now, and put aside Sadman Hussien etc. Can we concentrate on stopping kids getting abducted, grannies getting mugged [and worse], car thieves, burgulars, drug dealers and start building a better life for all of us whether they are black, green, white, stripey, yellow or brown ?

i think the plan is to keep us concentrating on saddam hussein etc so we dont notice that no one is having any success with the stopping kids getting abducted, grannies getting mugged [and worse], car thieves, burgulars, drug dealers and that no one knows how to start building a better life for all of us whether they are black, green, white, stripey, yellow or brown. there is more chance of me winning the lottery than being blown up by saddam hussein and i dont even but a ticket :-)

Treacle - you never cease to amaze me. Can't help buttotalyy agree with you. If only there was a political party that'd concentrate on the real issues... 'suppose that's a bit too much like Animal Farm, they promise us the world when they want our vote/money, once they're in charge they forget all about us tch such is life, thanks have a gr8 w/end paul ;+)

To a degree I would agree. But I think that a world leader allegedly lying to his people is a serious thing.

Surely the lies behind the deaths of 20,000 Iraqis is more of a "real issue" than whether your train is running on time?

i dont wish to make light of any of the awful things that have happened and i'm not saying for a minute that these matters shouldnt be addressed, but in all honesty, at 7.15 on a monday morning i do care more about whether the trains are running than i do about anything that isnt immediately affecting me. (my compassion engages at about 10.45 as a rule) :-D
