Everything you need to know, including a forum for those who have claimed and are claiming:

Before you do anything, get another current account up and running, because it is standard practice to close bank accounts of those reclaiming charges.

Good luck!
At the moment my site of choice for reclaiming would be http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk. MSE is such a popular site, that at the moment it is running very slow, swamped with new members. It is endorsed by Martin Lewis, who set up MSE. CAG deals mainly with money/complaints etc., and so you don't get side tracked, and get quicker responses - all the letters are on their, as are loads of people in the same boat as yourself.

My advice to you, is read why you are able to claim back your bank charges. When you understand this, you will not panic when the banks don't want to play ball.
Spending that time will be well worth while, after all you thought you had already lost your money, so another couple of weeks isn't going to make much difference, but could make a difference on how you eventually get your money back.
Sorry, didn't make it clear, consumeractiongroup (CAG) is endorsed by Martin Lewis.
