Ok, they have given us freedom and democracy, they have given us peace and the right to chose our own path...But what's instinct for if not to be used as an excuse to kill what gets in our way?

Let's have a society where we'd be able to legally kill whoever disagrees with us, whoever threatens our possessions, whoever threatens our peers, no matter that the answer to a wrong could be seen as another wrong. Let's have a society where everyone will be afraid to be thought unfit, to be seen going the wrong way.

So, tell me, can you come up with a better crime deterrant than imprisonment? the loss of freedom? the inability to do what everyone of us takes for granted, like pop to the local shop, go for a pint with your mates, go shopping? Personnally, I can't think of anything worse than losing my freedom.

Those people, the terrorists, are a VERY SMALL minority of brainwashed people, for whom dying in such circumstances actually gives them a higher status amongst their peers. Do you really think that death is the best answer? think about it. they do not have the same fears as you, they do not have the same culture as you. They are not afraid of death.

In my opinion, the worst they could suffer, is the loss of their pride. The fear of death does not apply to them. Deatn penalty has never been proven to be a deterrent, and all the more for them. What do you want? Give them hero status?
