Should there be an amnesty for illegal immigrants?
Did anyone see the march of illegal immigrants a couple of days ago in the capital? There was reported to be many thousands taking part. If they are illegal I assume they are paying no tax or national insurance. Some of those reported have been here for a number of years. Would it make sense to allow an amnesty as they are unlikely to be thrown out?

And "No", I don't think there should be an amnesty. These people are not paying their tax and National Insurance. The Inland Revenue (or whatever they're calling themselves these days) don't even give honest taxpayers an amnesty, even when they make a genuine mistake in their tax affairs.

It just goes to show the contempt these people have for this country, illegal immigrants marching through our capital city demanding rights, no wonder we are the laughing stock of the world, o for a few polititions with balls enough round the lot of them up and send them home, i am fed up of people saying they will be imprisoned if sent home, so what, should have behaved when they were home, why should we work to keep this lot
Why are the immigration laws so lax in this country? A friend of my wife is emigating to Australia. To be accepted they need to accepted for a job, have a certain amount of savings, in good health and will not be a drain on the Australian economy. How different to the UK which makes you come to the conclusion we get the world's misfits. We should take our options and ideas from Australia.
